Massachusetts Safe Communities Act hearing
January 24 @ 11:00 am
Are you ready for the Safe Communities Act hearing? If you’re planning to testify, we have updated guidance to help you prepare. We also want to keep building buzz by staying active on social media!
Along with the testimony guidance (see longer version for written testimony), we have a messaging guide that can also help when you speak with legislators and when you post on social media. As a reminder, the Safe Communities Act hearing is Friday, January 24, starting at 11 a.m. in the Gardner Auditorium. Make sure it’s on your calendar and RSVP on the new form so we know you’re coming.
Second reminder: Several groups are organizing to come together on buses or on the commuter rail. If you’re coming from Western Mass. or the Worcester area and would like to ride on a group bus, please email my colleague Amira at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you can’t come to the State House, plan to be part of social media actions and phone-a-thons! EVERYONE has a role to play on Jan. 24!
And here are 4 things you can do today:
- Share this email with your networks! If you got this as a forward from a friend, you can subscribe here to get it directly.
- Help us spread the word about Jan. 24 by sharing the Facebook event; we have flyers, too: 8.5×11″ and mini-flyers.
- Email your legislators and the Public Safety Committee and urge them to support the SCA. Write your own message or use our Phone2Action tool, which lets you customize the note.
- Keep promoting the Safe Communities campaign via social media! Follow us on Facebook and share our posts, or look out for the hashtag #SafeCommunitiesAct on Twitter and Instagram.
As always, our deep appreciation and thanks for all you’re doing for this campaign!
