Film: “Under Pressure”
February 26 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Student filmmakers produced “Under Pressure”, a 45-minute documentary film that investigates the 2018 gas disaster in the Merrimack Valley of Massachusetts, explores safety issues in the nation’s gas distribution system, and challenges the value of gas and other fossil fuels in an era of accelerating climate change.
The Four Rivers Charter School (Greenfield) class of 2019 was responsible for all stages of the documentary– from topic selection, creative planning, and research, to interviews, filming, writing, editing, and post-production. After two months of training and topic research, in December 2019, all 30 members of the Class traveled the state to interview politicians, business owners, residents, and scientists.
Student filmmakers (including Madeleine Lombard) will lead the post film discussion.
