Film: “Greensboro: Closer to the Truth”
December 11, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Resistance Films: Dec. 11, 6:30 – 8:30 pm Forbes Library, Northampton MA
“Greensboro: Closer to the Truth,” documents the first ever Truth and Reconciliation Commission held in the United States 25 years after what is now known as “The Greensboro Massacre,” a violent episode in the nation’s history. “The Closer to the Truth Project” uses the film to support local reconciliation and justice efforts in communities all across the U.S. Northampton-based member of the project , Dr. Marty Nathan (whose first husband was killed in the massacre) will lead the post-film discussion. Other local activists will talk about racial justice in the Valley.
This is the only film for December as the 4th Wed. is Christmas.
With the passing of Frances Crowe, we really need a committee of people to work on this film series with me. Please contact me at email@example.com and I will send you the specs for what kinds of films (and length of films) we need. We also want local activists whose work relates to the film’s topic to join us for the post-film discussion.
