It’s up to us to make a change

I am very tired of double standards. Back in 2015, I read about Donald Trump and his escapades with various women not his wife. Several were featured on the front page of the New York Times. Somehow that wasn’t given much attention by anyone, especially the people who voted for him. Perhaps they live the same way he does, or want to? And now the press is going after Biden.
So what’s it going to be, people? You want President Trump to keep on keeping on, destroying the planet and the democracy of our country — read Howard Zinn’s “People’s History of the U.S.” if you want to be informed about our past; it reflects a lot about the present too. Do you know that the Republican Party was the original party upholding democracy? Things change, folks. And to those who run away screaming about “socialism” and are glad that Sen. Bernie Sanders is no longer a candidate, well, if you’re on Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security, thank his predecessors: it’s available because of “socialist” programs from the 1930s and ‘60s. I doubt you’ll un-plug yourselves from these thankful financial benefits, especially now, during the pandemic.
People forget. History repeats itself. However Gov. Baker suggests we do it: vote! In Massachusetts, you can pre-register at age 16 or 17. Once you become old enough to vote, your local election office will move you from the list of pre-registrants to the list of registered voters. If you haven’t already registered to vote go to: https://www.voterparticipation.org or https://vote.dosomething.org. It’s up to us to make a change. Let’s do it.
