For two decades, The Interfaith Council of Franklin County and Traprock Center for Peace and Justice have honored teens from Franklin County for accomplishments within their communities, whether in their schools, churches or a wider community. Often students have addressed the concerns of the time. See more on the Awards here. (https://www.traprock.org/young-peacemaker-program/)

This year the concerns and actions taken were many and relevant, but the traditional May timing met with Covid-19 restrictions and caution. Thus no evening event was possible, as in years passed, where the students were honored — and heard from —  with music and many friends and supporters at Greenfield Community College.

But in 2020 the meaning of the Awards is as important as ever. Fourteen young men and women have been honored. We will feature their names and describe their work on climate action, human rights and more in our next e-news, along with a website and local media report.
