Franklin County for Peace

In 2022 the Franklin County Continuing the Political Revolution (FCCPR) peace task force reorganized as a Traprock program with this name. Peace activists respond to many issues and events of our time, and attend weekly vigils at the Greenfield Town Common, many specifically focused on particular themes, such as Tax Day, the Hiroshima-Nagasaki anniversary, etc.

Common Threads/ Respect for Girls

Since 2013 this program has provided workshops, concerts, booklets, and
conferences connecting people of all ages, while emphasizing leadership of young people, creative expression, and challenging interlocking forms of oppression.

Children’s Books Collaborative

Thanks to the generosity of several donors, Traprock has since 2016 contributed $1000 annually to a library or institution for books helping children learn and develop. These include works of fiction and nonfiction on a variety of subjects — world peace, empathy, community, girls’ empowerment, welcoming immigrants, and the natural environment.

In 2022 we partner with The Family Center at Montague Catholic Social Ministries, whose Love2Grow program supplies bilingual books to local families with children aged 0-5. Holistic family literacy is promoted, and families create a home library of books focused on peace, justice, and the environment.
