"THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS" tells the story of how the United Nations came to approve the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons on July 7th, 2017, with a 122 nations vote.
The film charts the development of the atomic bomb to the negotiations to prohibit nuclear weapons, with interviews of key people in the fields of activism and diplomacy including survivors of the Hiroshima nuclear bomb. Local members of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), (which won the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts,) as well as "Back From the Brink" and "NuclearBan.US" will tell you how you can get involved in the work and what they do.
