2019 Kateri Peace Conference: DEFYING EXTINCTION: Nurturing a Garden of Resilience in the Face of Climate Crisis
August 16, 2019 – August 17, 2019
This year’s conference, entitled, DEFYING EXTINCTION: Nurturing a Garden of Resilience in the Face of Climate Crisis, promises to provide many useful approaches to this daunting reality.
Friday, August 16, offers a day of deep reflection, designed with conscious awareness of the Iroquois people understanding of our connection to the web of life, as we walk upon their sacred land. On Saturday, we will spend time with each other and our noted speakers, grappling with the facts of climate disruption in standard conference format, then afterwards move to a community dinner shared on the shoreline of the beautiful Great Sacandaga Lake which will be enlivened by a theatrical performance celebrating the splendors of our challenged Earth as well as by musical performances. Kateri 21 promises to be a moving and motivating series of events.
As organizers of Kateri 21, we have set the stage for a dynamic event which will enrich thinking and action for all who attend. We need you to ensure that happens and truly look forward to seeing you there.
We urge you to invite family, friends and comrades to join in discussion and reflection around an issue which is clearly and existentially impacting all of us: climate disruption.
